Biophysical chemistry, electrochemistry of nucleic acids and proteins, DNA structure in solution and at interfaces, electrochemical DNA sensors; relations between DNA structure and function, chemical reactivity of DNA, DNA damage; DNA supercoiling, interactions of nucleic acids with proteins, tumour suppressor proteins

Teaching activities: a semestral lecture "Chemical properties, structure and interactions of Nucleic Acids" at the Faculty of Science, Masaryk University, Brno (1996-); supervisor of Bc., M.Sc. and Ph.D. students
